Alfa Romeo

The discounts depend on the model and quarter and range between 2 and 8 percent. Prerequisites:

• Proof of driving assistance registered in the driver's license
• People with disabilities receive special conditions when purchasing a new Audi vehicle. You can inquire about the possible discounts at the respective Audi partner; they are determined individually by the respective dealership.
• The presentation of a valid disabled person's pass from GdB 50 is required.
• Driving aids ex works are offered for the following model groups: Audi A3, Audi A4, Audi A5, Audi A6, Audi Q2, Audi Q3, Audi Q5 and for the all-electric Audi Q4 e-tron.

BMW/Mini

People with disabilities receive special conditions. These are the Prerequisites:

• up to 15%
• Presentation of a severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of 50 or more
• Conditions are set by the retailer
• When purchasing a new BMW or Mini, you can inquire about possible discounts directly through the BMW and Mini dealer organization.
• The conditions are determined individually by the respective dealer. The presentation of a valid disabled person's pass from GdB 50 is required.
• No driving aids are offered ex works, although BMW works closely with selected conversion providers for any necessary conversions.

Citroën

Citroën offers special conditions to people with disabilities. These are the Prerequisites:

• depending on model and equipment
• Presentation of a severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of 50 or more a combination of discounts is not possible
• There are model-dependent and time-limited special conditions. Citroën also offers subsidized products from the manufacturer's bank for financing and leasing.
• The prerequisite is corresponding proof with a GdB of at least 50.
• No driving aids are offered ex works, although close cooperation is maintained with selected conversion providers for any necessary conversions. Dealers can provide information about conversion partners. Many different solutions are offered, particularly on the subject of electromobility, both for self-drivers and for the transportation of people with limited mobility.

Dacia

Due to the low purchase price of the vehicles, Dacia offers no discount for people with disabilities.

Fiat

The discounts depend on the model and quarter and range between 6 and 38 percent. These are the Prerequisites:

• The conditions change on a quarterly basis. The Fiat brand recommends a discount of between 6 and 11 percent on new vehicles, depending on the model.
• The final decision and the entire process are the responsibility of the Fiat dealer. The discounts are only a recommendation, the dealer is free to design the offer.
• Prerequisite Autonomy: Disability card with a GdB of at least 50.

Ford

• Discount of 1,000 euros
• Presentation of a severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of 50 or more
• Authorization for at least 6 months to the authorized person

Honda

A discount is individually negotiable. These are the Prerequisites:

• GdB of at least 50 with or without features.
• Each authorized Honda dealer decides for himself as an independent entrepreneur whether to grant a discount. Each dealer can also determine the amount of the discount independently. There are no discount recommendations from Honda.

Hyundai

The discount depends on the quarter, model and equipment. These are the Prerequisites:

• The discounts depend on the respective quarterly program and are subject to constant change. The discounts also depend on the model and equipment. Restrictions usually apply to less equipped vehicles that are purchased less frequently.

Jaguar Land Rover

Kia

Recommended discount of up to 17.5 percent on new vehicles, depending on the model. These are the Prerequisites:

• between 16 and 17.5%
• Kia recommends a discount of up to 17.5 percent on new vehicles, depending on the model. The final decision lies with the Kia dealer. The discounts are a recommendation, the dealer is free to design the offer.
• Kia works together with MSG-mobil-sein GmbH in Berlin on special issues such as conversions, legal issues, etc.
• Ask your Kia dealer whether the optional Kia service flat rate (formerly the 7-year Kia maintenance package) can be combined with the discounts for people with disabilities. Each Kia dealer can decide for themselves whether or not to offer the optional Kia Service Flat Rate in conjunction with the discounts mentioned.

Lada

The supply of new vehicles has been discontinued. As a result, there is no longer a Lada importer in Germany and there are no longer any price recommendations or recommendations for discounts on Lada vehicles.

Mazda

The discounts depend on the model and quarter. These are the Prerequisites:

Mercedes-Benz passenger car

People with disabilities receive a 5 percent discount on the purchase of a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Mercedes-AMG models, Mercedes-EQ models, G-Class, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 are excluded. Some models are discounted by up to i 15 %.

Mercedes-Benz vans

There is a 3 percent discount on EQV and eVito Tourer. For discounts on the T-Class, Citan, V-Class, Vito and Sprinter van series, please contact your local Mercedes-Benz partner.

Prerequisites

• Discount for customers with a severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of 50 or more.
• The vehicle must be registered to the severely disabled person themselves for at least six months without interruption.
• The discount is granted on the new vehicle price including driving aids ex works.

Note: Mercedes-Benz offers driving aids ex works.

MG Motor Germany

MG Motor Germany grants no discounts for people with disabilities.

Mitsubishi

Up to 18 percent discount on the Eclipse Cross Plug-in Hybrid. These are the Prerequisites:

• Presentation of a disability card and a GdB of at least 50.
• The regulation is valid until revoked and will be updated with the introduction of new vehicle models in spring 2023.

Nissan

There is a discount of 15 to 29 percent depending on the model. These are the Prerequisites:

• At Nissan, people with disabilities receive special conditions if they are members of the MSG Mobilsein association or BbAB Bund behinderter Auto-Besitzer e.V. (Association of Disabled Car Owners).
• Nissan recommends that dealers offer a discount of between 15 and 29 percent on new vehicles, depending on the model.
• For the latest information on discounts and conditions, please contact your local Nissan dealer. The final decision on the discount lies with the Nissan dealer. A call-off slip from the association must be presented.
• The vehicle must be registered to the disabled person themselves or their spouse.

Opel

The discount depends on the model and quarter. For the combustion variants:

• Astra L: 12.5 percent
• Corsa F: 9.5 percent
• Crossland: 16 percent
• Grandland: 9.5 percent
• Mokka B: 11.5 percent
• Movano C: 15 percent
• Vivaro C: 15 percent

These are the Prerequisites:

• Private customers with a GdB of at least 50.
• Opel also offers driving aids ex works for many models (hand controls, steering aids and pedal covers).

Peugeot

Peugeot currently offers directly no special discounts for people with disabilities. However, there are special conditions for all models via various associations.

Renault

Discounts are possible depending on the model. These are the Prerequisites:

• Renault has a framework agreement through which members of the Bund behinderter Auto-Besitzer e.V. (BbAB) can receive a discount on the purchase of a new vehicle.
• In addition, each Renault dealer can grant different discounts. As each dealer is independent, the pricing and granting of discounts is the responsibility of the Renault dealers.

Seat

Seat Cupra

• Cupra Born special discount: 2 percent
• Cupra (remaining models) Special discount: 10 percent

These are the Prerequisites:

• The customer or a child has a valid disability card with a GDB of at least 50.
• People with written proof of thalidomide damage are also eligible.
• The registration must be made in the name of the authorized person (first and last name) or in the name of a guardian of this person or a caregiver.
• Alternatively, a person who is a first-degree relative of the beneficiary (spouse or partner with the same address, siblings, parents, grandparents, children and parents-in-law) may also be admitted.

Škoda

The discount for people with disabilities is 15 percent. No special discount on subsidized e-cars.

These are the Prerequisites:

• The severely disabled discount is available for people with a valid severely disabled person's pass and a GdB of at least 50.
• Although the Škoda e-models are currently offered with an environmental bonus, the severely disabled discount cannot be combined with this.

Subaru

Discount of 15 percent. No special discount for the Subaru Solterra electric vehicle. These are the Prerequisites:

• The discount is granted on all new Subaru vehicles and is model-independent. There is no special discount for the Subaru Solterra electric vehicle.
• The discount is available to people with disabilities with a severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of at least 50. They must have a valid driving license and be able to drive their vehicle themselves. There is a minimum holding period of six months and 3000 kilometers. The vehicle must be registered in the name of the holder of the severely disabled person's pass.

Suzuki

People with disabilities receive a discount of between 14 and 18 percent, depending on the model. These are the Prerequisites:

• GdB of at least 50.
• Suzuki currently recommends a discount of between 14 and 18 percent on new vehicles, depending on the model (except Across and Jimny).
• The recommendations are not binding. Each Suzuki dealer decides independently whether and how much discount to grant.

Toyota

The discount depends on the model. The discounts for 2023 are between 500 and 1000 euros.

• Aygo X: 500 euros
• Yaris petrol engine. 500 euros
• Yaris Hybrid: 500 euros
• Yaris Cross Hybrid: 500 euros
• Corolla Hybrid: 1000 euros
• Corolla Cross Hybrid (new model): 1000 euros
• C-HR Hybrid: 1000 euros
• RAV4 Hybrid: 1000 Euro
• Proace City Verso/Proace City: 1000 euros
• Proace Verso/Proace: 1000 Euro

These are the Prerequisites:

• Severely disabled person's pass with a GdB of at least 50.
• The minimum holding period is six months from initial registration and a minimum mileage of 3000 kilometers.
• The vehicle must be registered to the person with a disability, even if this person is driving.

Volvo

People with disabilities receive 1000 euros as a one-off payment per vehicle. This applies to all models (incl. PHEVs, but not BEVs).

These are the Prerequisites:

• Disability with at least GdB 50.
• Maximum of two vehicles per year.
• The purchase contract and registration must be in the name of the disabled person or first-degree family members (i.e. spouse, parents and children, but not siblings).

VW

Volkswagen Passenger Cars

Up to 15 percent discount on the purchase of a brand-new Volkswagen vehicle:

• Internal combustion and hybrid vehicles receive a 15 percent discount.
• VW is offering a 4 percent discount on ID models.

Prerequisites:

• When purchasing a brand-new Volkswagen vehicle, a discount of up to 15 percent is granted on the list price valid at the time of ordering - including driving assistance. This promotion covers almost all models of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand.
• Persons with a severely disabled person's pass showing a GdB of at least 50 are entitled to a discount. Customers with proof of a thalidomide impairment or a required driving aid entered on their driver's license are also entitled to a discount.
• If customers have any questions about the Volkswagen special discount, they can contact their local Volkswagen partner directly.

Volkswagen commercial vehicles

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also grants corresponding discounts for brand-new vehicles ordered from a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealer in Germany:

• Caddy/Caddy Maxi: 15 percent
• Caddy/Caddy Maxi California: 15 percent
• Transporter T6.1: 20 percent
• Multivan T6.1/California T6.1: 15 percent
• Multivan T7 and Multivan T7 PHEV: 15 percent
• Crafter: 24 percent
• Grand California: 15 percent
• ID.Buzz Pro & Cargo: 4 percent
• Amarok: 11 percent

The discounts apply to standard models. Discounts for promotional models and vehicles that include equipment packages with further price advantages are regulated separately in some cases. The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealer has information on this available for customers.

Prerequisites:

• People with a disability of GdB 50 or more are entitled to a discount.
• No further markings are required.
• You can find out whether you or your relatives are entitled to an inheritance from your Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles partner.

According to Article 3 of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, all people enjoy equal protection before the law. Paragraph 3 of this article further specifies this equality and prohibits any discrimination based on factors such as gender or faith. One particularly important aspect is also emphasized:

"No one should be disadvantaged because of their disability."

Many car manufacturers therefore grant discounts for the severely disabled when buying a car. Some manufacturers also allow the disabled discount to be used if the vehicle is registered to a relative. Citroën, DS, Peugeot, Nissan, Renault, Skoda and Volvo are well-known examples of this. The discount is granted on the list price of the vehicle and only applies to new cars. Day registrations or demonstration cars are generally excluded from the discount. When trading in a used car, individual negotiations should be conducted with the dealer.

However, it should be noted that the conditions for the severely disabled discount can vary considerably depending on the make of car. It is therefore advisable to compare the offers carefully and obtain comprehensive information in advance.

Anyone wishing to take advantage of a disability discount when buying a car should consider the following points:

• The discount is usually only granted when purchasing a new car. Such a discount is usually not available for used cars, demonstration cars and day registrations.
• The discount for buying a car with a severe disability only applies if the vehicle is registered to a disabled person.
• Severely disabled discounts generally relate to the list price of the vehicle and not to any house prices. In addition, in most cases the disability discount cannot be combined with other promotions.

New car discount for people with disabilities:

As car dealers are legally and commercially independent, the decision on a possible discount is ultimately in their hands.

Title: Inclusive mobility: The path to a disability discount when buying a car

For people with disabilities, unrestricted participation in everyday life is often closely linked to their mobility. Having their own car can not only mean freedom, but also enable integration into working life and active social interaction. Many car manufacturers recognize the importance of this aspect and offer special discounts for people with disabilities, but only when buying a new car.

The basic requirement for claiming a disability discount is usually the presentation of a severely disabled person's pass with a degree of disability (GdB) of at least 50 percent. Alternatively, some manufacturers also accept proof of thalidomide damage or the presence of a registered driving aid on the driver's license.

An interesting detail is that currently (as of August 2020) no manufacturer requires a further characteristic of disability listed in the ID card. In the past, characteristics such as "significant walking disability" (G), "exceptional walking disability" (aG), "helplessness" (H), "dependent on constant assistance" (B), "blindness" (Bl) or "deafness" (Gl) were occasionally required, which is no longer the case today.

There are also differences when it comes to registering the vehicle. Most manufacturers require the car to be registered to the disabled person themselves. However, Citroën, DS, Peugeot, Nissan, Renault, Skoda and Volvo are an exception and also grant the disability discount if the vehicle is registered to a relative.

Another important condition is often a holding period of at least 6 months. This means that the vehicle must not be resold for a certain period after purchase in order to maintain the entitlement to the disability discount.

It is important to note that the disability discount only applies to the purchase of a new car and is usually applied to the list price. In some rare cases, such as Ford and Toyota, the disabled discount may be combinable with other discount promotions, price reductions or house prices. However, it is at the dealership's discretion whether to offer the disability discount, as in most cases this is a recommendation from the manufacturer.

Some car manufacturers stipulate additional requirements for claiming discounts on new cars. This applies in particular to manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Lancia and Mitsubishi, where the severely disabled person's ID card requires a certain mark in order to receive a discount when buying a car. Here are the required characteristics:

• G - Significantly disabled
• aG - Exceptionally disabled
• H - Helpless
• Bl - Blind
• Gl - Deaf (only with Mitsubishi)

It should be noted that in most cases, the vehicle must be registered to the disabled person concerned in order to qualify for the discount. These conditions should be checked carefully before signing the purchase contract to ensure that all the necessary criteria are met.

Vehicle subsidies for people with disabilities offer an alternative option for financial support. In addition to the discounts offered by car manufacturers when buying a new car, it is also possible to apply for government grants for the purchase and conversion of a vehicle to make it suitable for people with disabilities.

The responsibility of the cost bearer in your individual case depends on various factors. For example, employees who have paid pension insurance contributions for less than 15 years should contact the employment office. For those with a longer period of employment, the Federal Insurance Institution for Salaried Employees is the right contact.

Further important information and guidelines for obtaining a discount or subsidy when buying a car for people with disabilities are set out in the so-called Motor Vehicle Assistance Ordinance (KfzHV). It is advisable to study these regulations carefully in order to make the best use of the corresponding subsidies.

Applying for grants and discounts when buying a car with a severely disabled person's pass is subject to certain conditions set out in the Motor Vehicle Assistance Ordinance (KfzHV). Here is an overview of the key points:

1. personal requirements according to paragraph 3 KfzHV:

4. requirements for the vehicle according to paragraph 4 KfzHV:

• The vehicle must meet the requirements of the respective disability in terms of both size and equipment. If necessary, it should be possible to modify it to meet the individual requirements of the driver with a disability without disproportionate effort.

5. exclusion criteria:

• It is only possible to apply for a disability discount when buying a car if the person concerned does not already own a suitable vehicle or if the use of the existing vehicle is unreasonable.

Amount of the grant:

• The exact amount of the grant or disability discount when buying a car is not fixed across the board. As a rule, new cars are subsidized up to an amount of 9,500 euros. If it is necessary to purchase a more expensive vehicle, a higher amount can be applied for if this is justified by the nature and severity of the disability.

Subsidies for used cars:
